Stop-motion is perhaps one of the most spectacular yet patience-requiring art forms ever existing. Each frame is delicately crafted by hand. It’s a repetitive cycle that consists of pausing and resuming endlessly. It’s an extremely time-consuming process that demands the utmost precision and attention, yet there’s a reason why this form has been continuously picked up by directors and storytellers.
The number of details needing to be attended to is a double-edged sword that consumes a lot of time but also gives full control to the storyteller. In stop-motion, the storyteller can literally craft and build up the entire story world.
Through the years, we’ve been blessed with many different stop-motion animated movies, yet some stand out from the others. And today, we’ve ranked the top 10 award-deserving stop motions that not only are beautiful to watch but also tell stories worth your time!
